For the fourth year in a row, it's going to be a "yes, chef" summer: The Bear is officially set to return for its fourth season in June. And if you remember anything about how Season 3 ended, you know the restaurant dramedy has some explaining to do. The Season 3 finale ended on an ominous "to be continued" as Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) pored over the dreaded review of his troubled restaurant, and Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) toyed with the idea of leaving it all behind in favor of a more lucrative offer.

While we wait patiently to get our chef whites back on, keep reading to learn everything we currently know about The Bear Season 4.

The Bear Season 4 release date

The Bear continues to hold claim over the month of June. On May 13, FX announced that Season 4 of Christopher Storer's dramedy will follow the release cadence of its three previous seasons, with all 10 episodes dropping at once on Hulu on June 25. Happy Pride! (Just kidding, there are no canonically LGBTQ+ characters on The Bear.)

In 2024, Deadline reported that Seasons 3 and 4 would be shot back to back. The Bear has been one of the rare streaming-era shows to maintain a consistent release strategy.

The Bear Season 4 trailer

The Bear just can't escape the chaos, and neither can The Bear. In the official Season 4 trailer, released on May 20, Carmy is trying to keep things calm at the restaurant, which is easier said than done when Jimmy (Oliver Platt) has put a literal countdown clock in the kitchen to remind him that the money is running out. No pressure. The new footage also teases the restaurant critic's verdict on The Bear, which sounds mixed — but at least Sydney seems to be sticking around.

The Bear Season 4 cast

The whole kitchen staff will return for the fourth season. This includes the main cast — Jeremy Allen WhiteAyo EdebiriEbon Moss-BachrachLionel BoyceLiza Colón-ZayasAbby Elliott, and Matty Matheson — as well as recurring cast members Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendrix, Oliver Platt, Molly Gordon, and Ricky Staffieri.

The trailer also teases the return of Jamie Lee Curtis as Donna, the unstable Berzatto matriarch. The Bear has become synonymous with high-profile guest stars, with the Season 3 roster including the likes of John Cena as Sammy Fak and Josh Hartnett as Frank, Tiff's (Gillian Jacobs) fiancé. Frequently appearing in flashbacks are Jon Bernthal as Carmy's deceased brother Mikey, and Joel McHale as David Fields, Carmy's abusive old boss from New York. Past guest stars have included Will Poulter as Luca, a chef from Carmy's past, and Olivia Colman as Chef Andrea Terry. Any of them could reprise their roles in the fourth season, and we'd bet that Season 4 will feature a whole new crop of famous faces.

Main cast:

  • Jeremy Allen White as Carmy Berzatto
  • Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu
  • Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie Jerimovich
  • Lionel Boyce as Marcus Brooks
  • Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina Marrero
  • Abby Elliott as Natalie "Sugar" Berzatto
  • Matty Matheson as Neil Fak

What will The Bear Season 4 be about?

Here's the official, typically enigmatic description from FX's press release: "Season 4 of FX's The Bear finds Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), and Richard "Richie" Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) pushing forward, determined not only to survive, but also to take The Bear to the next level. With new challenges around every corner, the team must adapt, adjust and overcome. This season, the pursuit of excellence isn't just about getting better — it's about deciding what's worth holding on to." That basically tells us nothing. Amazing!

The Bear Season 3 left off on a cliffhanger, which means that Season 4 will likely pick that thread right up. The Season 3 finale ends without revealing the restaurant critic's final verdict on The Bear; meanwhile, Sydney is last seen toying with the offer from Chef Shapiro (Adam Shapiro) to poach her for his new restaurant. To be continued indeed!
