Tayme Thapthimthong plays a member of Prodigy's Search and Rescue team

Tayme Thapthimthong, The White Lotus
HBO[Warning: Spoilers ahead for Alien: Earth's premiere, "Neverland." Read at your own risk!]
Tayme Thapthimthong's appearance in the premiere of FX's Alien: Earth might not have been the easiest to catch. He spent most of his time in a helmet, and the major scene featuring his character took place in the dimmed wreckage of a spacecraft that had just crashed into Earth. But make no mistake: The actor who graced our screens earlier this year as pacifist security guard Gaitok in The White Lotus Season 3 was indeed in Noah Hawley's new series.
Just like his character in The White Lotus, Thapthimthong appeared in uniform in Alien: Earth. Only this time, he was not working on a lavish resort serving wealthy guests from around the world. In the prequel series to Ridley Scott's original Alien, the actor plays Anant, a member of Prodigy's Search and Rescue team.
Anant is called into action, along with Alex Lawther's Hermit, when the spacecraft — later revealed to be a research vessel from Weyland-Yutani — collides with one of Prodigy's towers. The Search and Rescue team boards the downed ship with the goal of finding survivors and helping the wounded. Little do they know that for some of them, including Anant, the rescue mission will be a death sentence.
Anant stumbles into perhaps the most dangerous room of the spacecraft: the lab. It's here that he and his partner, Hoyt (Lloyd Everitt), find unfamiliar creatures stored in tanks. One of these creatures is the Facehugger, familiar to fans of Scott's 1979 sci-fi horror classic, though it's another alien life form that is responsible for the pair's demise. After an encounter with cyborg Morrow (Babou Ceesay) leaves Anant and Hoyt incapacitated, Hoyt starts to feel something crawling on his body. Moments later, he screams in agony as a slug-like being attacks his neck. Anant tries to escape, but to no avail. He becomes the next victim on the downed spacecraft.
Alien: Earth, like The White Lotus, was filmed in Thailand. Thapthimthong, a Thai actor born and raised in London, is becoming an increasingly familiar face to global audiences. According to Time, he also has a role in Jason Statham's film Mutiny slated for 2026.
Alien: Earth premieres Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 8/7c on FX and Hulu with two episodes, followed by a new episode each Tuesday at 8/7c.
